This is a new 12-volt reversing autopilot pump. These were originally kitted with the S1000 autopilot and were designed for use on single-engine boats. The S1000 was listed as being compatible with hydraulic steering systems with a capacity of 5 to 8 cubic inches (80 to 130 cubic centimeters) on boats 25 feet and under.

These compact pumps have similar specifications to the Raymarine Type .5 pump. We do not recommend using these pumps on larger vessels, or vessels with multiple engines, but for smaller single-engine boats, these are an excellent way to save money.

As these are simple reversing pumps, they will work similarly with Simrad, Furuno, Sitex, and other autopilot systems so long as the boat size is in line with the advice above. They will not work with Garmin systems, Garmin uses a different type of pump that is unique to Garmin.
