Additional Notes: This device enables the operation of two VHF radios with just a single antenna.  It detects when a radio is transmitting and switches an internal relay to connect your antenna to that transceiver. This connection will be maintained until the second radio transmits. Our design has been thoroughly tested to ensure both reliable operation and that there is minimal power loss to either the transmitted or received signal.

This device needs 12V DC power to operate. Without power the antenna will be connected to VHF A, once power is supplied to it, the relay will default to VHF B. Afterwards, whichever radio was the last to transmit will remain “active” and stay connected to the antenna until the other radio begins to transmit. Please ensure that you don’t transmit on both radios at the same time, as the high SWR for the radio that is not connected to the antenna may damage it over time.

Only one radio at a time will be capable of picking up incoming transmissions. For proper safety at sea it is recommended that you keep both radios on at all times to ensure that no matter what, one of them will be ready to receive DSC calls and distress messages. If your two radios are in different stations, separated by some distance, we recommend tapping the transmit button when you switch stations so that radio will connect to the antenna and be ready to receive incoming transmissions.

We recommend performing a radio check every time you use your vessel or switch stations.
