We recently acquired a lot of Garmin/Volvo Glass Helm 7616 displays, new in box. We have taken a handful of these, which are in THIS listing, and converted them (via a hardware swap) to standard Garmin GPSmap 7616 displays. Volvo Glass Helm displays are Garmin displays that are factory programmed with different firmware. It is impossible to convert a Volvo display to a Garmin or vice versa with any sort of software or firmware update, forced at startup, or through a normal software update procedure.

In order to convert these, we dipped into our 7616 parts inventory and we performed a hardware swap on each display, followed by a software update to bring them to the latest 7616 software. This effectively makes these GPSmap 7616 displays that are brand new – near impossible to find!

We warranty the unit for 90 days, extended warranty may be available for purchase through eBay or may be included with some credit cards. Because these are discontinued and no longer supported by Garmin, manufacturer’s warranty and support will not be available.
